Importance of Low-Angle Grain Boundaries in YBa2Cu3O7-&delta Coated Conductors
Superconductor Science and Technology has recently published a topical review by John Durrell and Noel Rutter. Recent strides in coated conductor substrate development have reduced the grain to grain misorientation in the resulting YBCO layers significantly. Against this background the review targets where this leaves the study of grain boundaries in coated conductors, and asks if they are still relevant, or if the community should concentrate on improving bulk pinning.
This review will be freely available online until the 31st January 2009.
